In her professional life, Ruth was a dedicated colleague and loyal friend to many. Her commitment to giving back to the community was evident through her years of service as a Division 6 Councillor for the County of Leduc. Her passion for conservation and wildlife protection knew no bounds, and she spent many years volunteering with the Alberta Fish and Game Association.

Ruth's love of travel took her to many countries around the world, where she shared her enthusiasm for art, music, and culture with her family. She was a gifted writer and teacher who put herself through university, and her intellect, quick wit, and kindness inspired those who knew her.

Despite facing numerous challenges throughout her life, Ruth remained energetic, courageous, and resourceful until the very end. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories of her love, wisdom, and unwavering support.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Shannon (David), and son, Russell (Deanna), as well as her grandchildren, Nathaniel (Charlene), Mackenzie, Kristen (Deena), Colin, and great-grandson, Elijah. She will also be deeply missed by her sister, nieces, and nephews.
